On August 9, GreenToronto hosted two eco-makerspace workshop for a total of 72 students at Lorvale Academy. Team leaders Andy Song and Sophie Li-Fikree led the participants in two sustainable craft activities: making bird feeders from recycled plastic water bottles and cutlery, and the marshmallow challenge where teams were tasked with building the tallest tower out of limited supplies to learn the importance of carefully conserving resources. Like previous workshops, these activities used a fun and engaging craft as a vehicle to convey the importance of a sustainable lifestyle.
