GreenToronto February 16th Eco-Makerspace Workshop
GreenToronto hosted an Eco Workshop on sustainability and recycled materials on February 16, 2024 at Upper Forest Hill Education. With 8 participants, ranging from Grades 1 to 8, they were taught how to use recycled materials to create jellyfish models -- the same theme as the last workshop. The session was informative and eye-opening, providing participants with a new perspective on sustainability and creativity. The importance of this project is to help people rethink the way to approach materials and that utilizing recycled materials not only contributes to environmental conservation but also challenges people to think outside the box.
The hands-on aspect of the workshop allowed participants to experiment with various recycled materials and learn about their unique characteristics. The jellyfish models created by participants demonstrated those recycled materials can prove that sustainability can be both innovative and visually appealing. This event was successfully organized and run by Andy Song and Sophie Li-Fikree.
