On February 10th, 2022, Andy and Bob attended the kick-off meeting of the Youth Entrepreneurship Forum, an event run by another NPO - OTLF (Outstanding Teenager Leadership Foundation), of which Andy is its youth leader. The Youth Entrepreneurship (YEF) Forum aims to connect youth with one another and with experienced mentors, presenting an amazing networking opportunity for all. The kick-off meeting used the prospect of an electric vehicle market in Canada as a topic to set the stage for discussion and interaction between youth-and-youth, as well as youth-and-mentors. The goal was for attendees to learn from the experiences of others and make valuable educational/cooperative connections. More productive events are planned for the future, furthering OTLF and YEF’s mission of promoting collaboration between diverse business talents.
Andy and Bob spent months working on planning the details and procedure of this event, as well as promoting it through marketing strategies. Andy, as part of the marketing team, specifically invited many students of different backgrounds who are business-oriented or might have an interest in either EVs or entrepreneurship. The planning committee received valuable feedback from mentors such as Ms. Yady Ballesteros, a seasoned business executive at Scotiabank, who provided key insight to the team to improve our plans and goals.
